Alexei Miller, Director of Project Management at DataArt and OOBP.org Co-founder, recently presented at LISA (the Localization Industry Standards Association) Global Strategies Summit in San Francisco. This event focused on the issues of global content management and software localization and support. Software localization is an extremely dynamic industry, with an ever increasing demand for 'global' software. Linguistic technology standards are finally rising up to par and supporting localization processes. Speakers from more than forty panels, discussion groups and workshops encouraged their audiences to build knowledge centric systems, and to use the innovations for truly helpful solutions.

Alexei Miller gave a presentation on Best Practices in Outsourcing for Small and Medium-size enterprises. Based on DataArt's many years of experience with this segment of the market, he shared his views on differences in outsourcing approaches between large and small companies. Alexei presented the idea of OOBP (Offshore Outsourcing Best Practices), a community driven non-profit association of small businesses and entrepreneurs sharing accumulated knowledge of best practices for offshore outsourcing.
